Letter from the President

Please forgive our little "tongue-in-cheek" biography page, but we couldn't resist injecting a little humor into your day!  Dan and I truly value the people that work for us; they are our greatest asset and are the most important part of our success!

Applied Audio & Theatre Supply has been serving the Western New York area since 1973, and we have been constantly expanding since we first started in our humble offices on State Street in Rochester.

Staff Biographies

Lou "Stecchino" Calarese
Lou is our President and C.F.O. He is originally from Mattydale (Yes, Mattydale!), New York, and has been working for us since 1975. Lou is active in his faith community, and enjoys golfing, mountain biking and downhill skiing with his wife when away from the office.

Dan "Slappy" McKenzie
Dan is our C.E.O and Production Manager.  He hails from Fairport, New York, and has been working hard for us for nearly twenty years.  When he is not in our warehouse or in the field, Dan enjoys golfing and travel with his family.

Andy "Zipper "Greco
Zipper is our Sales Manager, and frequently mixes stage monitors for us. He is a transplant from Brooklyn, New York (Go Yankees!), and has been a member of our staff for 15 years. He has recently found that he is an avid hockey player, and spends his off-hours coaching baseball.

Jeff "MC Hair" Stid
Jeff is our Service Manager, and our factory certified ETC Field Technician.  He was born in East Lansing Michigan (Go Spartans!), and is celebrating his 10 year anniversary with us this year! (Woo-hoo!)  Jeff enjoys competitve beach volleyball, bad golf, sailing and mountain biking whenever possible.

Gordon "Gordie" Erickson
Gordie is our senior service technician, having worked for us since the neolithic period.  He was born in Minnesota, and can be found most weekends behind the mixing console at his church.  In his off-time, he enjoys cruising and spending time with his many grandchildren!

Andy "Krusty" Mulye
Krusty is our rental and production technician, and originally is from henrietta, New York.  Krusty started out with us forever-ago as a freelance engineer, but we just had to have him full-time, so he has been with us almost 15 years.  He enjoys fixing up his new home and turkey hunting with his bare hands.

Dan "Thud" Swartout
Thud (don't ask) is our service and installation technician and has just recently joined us, making him the F.N.G.  He comes to us from the back-woods of Canandaigua, New York, and enjoys the trumpet, and spending time with his newlywed bride (ain't love grand?!)
